Anti-smoking and Vaping Workshop

General News

We had a new visitor today at Selwyn Hall School!

Vanessa, from Cambridge NHS Health, came to visit the school to deliver an engaging workshop teaching our pupils about the dangers of smoking and vaping. The sessions were informative and carefully tailored to suit the different age groups, ensuring that every child was able to understand the important messages being shared.

Throughout the workshops, the children learnt about the harmful effects that smoking and vaping can have on the body, as well as the long-term health conditions associated with both. They also discussed why it is important to make healthy choices and how to resist peer pressure as they grow older.

Our pupils listened attentively throughout the presentations and were keen to take part in the discussions. They asked many thoughtful and pertinent questions, showing genuine curiosity and a strong understanding of the topics covered. Following the workshops, many children continued the conversation with school staff, sharing what they had learnt and talking about why they want to make positive, healthy choices by avoiding smoking and vaping.

A big thank you to Vanessa for taking the time to visit Selwyn Hall School and deliver such valuable and informative sessions. We are always grateful for opportunities to enrich our pupils’ learning with expert visitors from the local community!
